Ep 83: The Gardens Between - All About The Sweet Spot

We're back and later than ever! Here's our December episode and it's the beautiful puzzle game The Gardens Between. As usual, we all felt very differently about this game, but in the end we all very much enjoyed the experience. Hope you got a chance to play it too!
After our intros and game development chitchat we get into the gameplay (12:15) before diving deep into our drinks in "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (26:45). Then we drive on down to the Recommendation Station (48:30) and finish things off by talking about next month's game (1:03:15). Enjoy!

Ep 82: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - I PROMISE WE LIKED THIS GAME!

We're back! Happy holidays and new years and all that: here's our belated November episode: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor! We were lucky to back Tyler Weaver back on the pod after he joined us for the first game, Jedi: Fallen Order. We had a lovely time, and can't wait to have him back for Star Wars Outlaws sometime in 2024. And despite what Jason continues to say throughout this episode, all three of us really enjoyed this game! Hope you enjoy this episode just as much...
We dive right into the development and after that get deeeeeep into the gameplay pretty quick (12:30) before a yummy round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (50:45). Then we take a trip down to the Recommendation Station (1:02:15) before talking about next month's game (1:12:45) which in reality will be next week's game. (Keep reading)
Wow sorry for the delay in this November 2023 episode (oops). Some big life things happened and well, we're a little late. But we're going to still get our December game out next week and Holiday Special soon after that so we should be right back on track for 2024 come February. Whew!

Side Quest: Baldur’s Gate 3 - Steaks All Day

We're finally doing it! Our epic episode on our latest favorite game ever: Baldur's Gate 3. Corri sat this one out but Ben and Jason had a grand old time talk the ins and outs of this epic adventure. Ep 81: Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate - It’s DOT COM!

Strong Bad, Homestar, and The Cheat are BACK! This time in a trilogy to end all trilogies in the freshly rewrapped and vamped again: Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate! We couldn't help ourselves and had to immediately insert this magnificent game directly into our calendar, and then directly into our veins and eye holes. MAN OH MAN was it a treat too. Hope you get a chance to enjoy it as well!
After some silliness Corri, Ben, & Jason get into the serious stuff of what this game is and how it came to be (5:45) then dive deeeeeep into the gameplay (22:30). After that, the gang drinks and sings itself silly in a wondrous round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (45:40) before taking a lovely trip down the road to the Recommendation Station (57:45) with some fun new sfx. Enjoy!

Ep 80: Don’t Starve: The Anal People Correlation

Hope you didn't starve while waiting for this episode to satiate your ravenous hunger for our dulcet tones! We're back and ready to chat all about Klei Entertainment's Don't Starve that came out originally in 2013. It's an oldie but a goodie in this month's game, and we're joined by none other than the delightful Gabi Kirilloff to walk us through all the good and the not-as-good aspects of the game.
After some chitchat nonsense the gang gets into the history of the game and development before getting deep into the gameplay (26:30). After that they play an problematic round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (56:00), then they hit up the Recommendation Station (1:05:40), then mess up talking about next month's game (1:17:00). Hope you enjoy the ep!

Another month sans Corrigan, but the Helms Bros are back at it again with a blast from the...recently released games: Season: A Letter to the Future. A laid-back adventure game with an ethereal aesthetic that is best when you're not rushing through things, Season was a joy to play. Sit down on a sacred square of earth and listen as we recap our favorite moments together...
After the shenanigans, the boys talk about some of the controversy of the game and Scavengers Studios as a whole (7:30) then get into the majority of the conversation which centers around the gameplay (13:15). Ep 78: Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure - Top 50 Game (For Its Time)

Heeee's baaaack! Not only are we joined by our old FMOLMF Richard Nile, but he's bringing along our old trusty explorer, Indiana Jones as we Crusade across the globe for the Last time on an Adventure of the most tip-top, highest-resolution, most beautifully-colored, most exciting game (for its time) ever made (at the time). Grab your bull whip and fedora, it's time to get a-puzzlin'!
After some introductory tomfoolery, the boys get into the history of the game (11:00) and dive deeeep into the gameplay shortly after (26:00). Ep 77: Tunic - You Got Your Stick

Hey there Zelda fans, have we got a game for you! We did our MOLMFiest on this one and nailed the perfect Goldilocks between the three hosts: one of us loved it, one of us hated it, and Ben though it was juuuuuuuust...fine. Hope you got a chance to play this gem of a game this month but honestly there aren't a lot of story spoilers here; a few gameplay ones for sure though. Enjoy!
After the usual shenanigans and BS the gang finally gets into the development (6:00) and deeeeep into the gameplay after that (14:15). Ep 76: Beacon Pines - Like That One Episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Aaaaaand we're back! Sorry for the delay there but we have two episodes coming your way this month to make up for it. This one's all about the modern forest fable Beacon Pines. As usual, we all have very different opinions on the game, which is just the hot goss you listen for every month. Hope you enjoy this episode! 
Corrigan, Ben, and Jason start out with a lot of nonsense, and by nonsense I mean what Jason's been up to for the past few weeks, then they get into the actual game of Beacon Pines (28:15). After a loooooong gameplay chat they get into a classic round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:04:15), take a trip to the ol' Recommendation Station (1:35:30) and that really turns into a whole thing before they finally get into the future landscape of upcoming MOLMF games on the way (2:09:45).

Ep 75: Disco Elysium - MEGA HARDCORE!!!!!

The gang got together and played Disco Elysium this month and WOW. What a game it was. Corrigan took the month off and subbed in her partner, Kyo Edmoundson, and it was great getting his thoughts on the game. Hope you enjoy this meandering conversation where covered just about everything in this 2-hour episode and it still felt like we barely scratched the surface of this super-detailed and mega-dense game. Enjoy!
We start off with some intros and big idea stuff then finally set up the game and setting (19:40) before getting into the development and more recent company news (29:10). After that we dive deeper into the gameplay with a few spoilers eventually (43:00 ish) before playing a resounding round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:24:45). Then we take a visit to the Recommendation Station (1:45:50) and pick next mont's game at the VERY end of the pod.
