We're back this month with a Side Quest episode betwixt two "normal" episodes...but honestly this is functionally just a normal episode with two caveats: The normal Men Of Low Moral Fiber have been replaced by our lovely guest, with just as much and/or more levels of Moral Fiber. John LaTour joins Corrigan to talk about their latest obsession: Death's Door. They even get into the development and gameplay, and play a whole round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" too. It really is a great, thorough, delightful romp of a Side Quest. Enjoy!

There's games that have crafting, then there are crafting games, and this one my friends is a crafting game. Much of enjoyable, plenty of laughs and good times, but MAN. This game was....hard. Very, very difficult. But man was it rewarding when it was fun. And pretty. We dove DEEEEEP into the Deepnest of this game and hope you were able to play it along with us. Give it a listen and enjoy our conversation that somewhat involves this fantastic indie game...
We chit chat for a few, then get into the making of the game (7:45), then chat about the many influences of the game (18:00). Also we recorded a delightful little lore explainer (31:00), then get onto each of our experiences with actually playing the game after that (43:00). Eventually we get to "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" Man oh man this game was surprisingly TERRIFYING. Just wow. If you were lucky enough to play the original Outer Wilds back when we covered it in 2019, then you were probably just as excited to get back to this universe and boy did it deliver. Wow. It's an amazing game, but also a liiiittle scary. So get your big boy pants on and join us as we dive deeeeeeep into the DLC Echoes Of The Eye with our great FOLMF, Tyler Weaver...
We start off just chatting development and early gameplay stuff before getting into the lore a bit (20:15), then we hit the spoilers HARD (25:45). We finally get into the gameplay (42:30) before playing a delicious round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (53:15). We say goodbye to Tyler and have a lovely visit to the Recommendation Station (1:02:00), a very enjoyable Developer Spotlight (1:16:30), and end with talking about next month's game (1:18:45). Beware...it's a HARD GAME. Enjoy!

Usually when Jason suggest a game, Corri and Ben roll their eyes and grumble. Well that's what happened here too...but then they played Hades and TOTALLY CHANGED THEIR MINDS!!! Man this game is dope. Ben and Corri each put 80+ hours into it this month and wow. What a game. Hope you get a chance to play it, even if you've never played a rogue-like before (like 2/3 of us). Great story, fun gameplay, addictive setup all around. Check it out!
We start out checking in, then get into the development and making-of (6:30), then dive deeeeep into the gameplay after that (17:30). We chat about our favorite builds (31:45), our favorite characters (43:30), and Jason gives us an education in Rogues and Rogue-likes (58:00). Eventually we meaner on down to the discopub for some "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:12:15), and visit the Recommendation Station (1:22:00). After that we have our Dev Spotlight (1:37:15) and a lengthy segment of MOLMF! In The News! (1:39:18). And of course we end things talking about next month's game (1:51:03), which is kind of a throwback...in a sense...get psyched!

Another day, another sequel! That's right, we're back and talking about one of our most favoritest franchises ever: PYSCHONAUTS!!! This time, the recently-released sequel aptly entitled: Psychonauts 2!
After some intro-ing we get into the development (7:00) then seamlessly slide right into the gameplay (13:00). Eventually we get into a classic round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" but somehow do it backwards...? (37:45). Dev spotlight after that (1:02:30) and we end things talking about next NEXT month's game that Corrigan got to pick (1:07:45).

As long as we've been playing video games, we've been playing sports video games. From NHL '94 and NBA JAM to NFL Blitz and FIFA, we love the challenging, fun, and social nature of these games. So we figured, let's do a whole ep focused on just that. We're pushing back our Halloween game a few week so we can get our latest obsession onto the pod: DEATHLOOOOOP! Definitely enjoying this latest hit from Arkane, so hopefully you get a chance to play it for a bit.
