Ep 76: Beacon Pines - Like That One Episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Aaaaaand we're back! Sorry for the delay there but we have two episodes coming your way this month to make up for it. This one's all about the modern forest fable Beacon Pines. As usual, we all have very different opinions on the game, which is just the hot goss you listen for every month. Hope you enjoy this episode! 
Corrigan, Ben, and Jason start out with a lot of nonsense, and by nonsense I mean what Jason's been up to for the past few weeks, then they get into the actual game of Beacon Pines (28:15). After a loooooong gameplay chat they get into a classic round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:04:15), take a trip to the ol' Recommendation Station (1:35:30) and that really turns into a whole thing before they finally get into the future landscape of upcoming MOLMF games on the way (2:09:45).

Ep 75: Disco Elysium - MEGA HARDCORE!!!!!

The gang got together and played Disco Elysium this month and WOW. What a game it was. Corrigan took the month off and subbed in her partner, Kyo Edmoundson, and it was great getting his thoughts on the game. Hope you enjoy this meandering conversation where covered just about everything in this 2-hour episode and it still felt like we barely scratched the surface of this super-detailed and mega-dense game. Enjoy!
We start off with some intros and big idea stuff then finally set up the game and setting (19:40) before getting into the development and more recent company news (29:10). After that we dive deeper into the gameplay with a few spoilers eventually (43:00 ish) before playing a resounding round of "What's The Drink? What's The Song?" (1:24:45). Then we take a visit to the Recommendation Station (1:45:50) and pick next mont's game at the VERY end of the pod.

Side Quest: Soma - Do It In The Dark With the Lights Off

Our Spookilogy is complete! I know, I know, we're a month past Halloween, that didn't stop us from playing three scary games. This third one is a doozie too! Soma comes to us from the makers of Amnesia and Penumbra, and also comes to us from our good FOLMF Dr. Wendi Sierra noted scholar, game developer, writer, and big ol' fan of Soma. Ep 73: Inscryption - I Earned That OP-ness

Happy Halloween! Here's the second of three games of our MOLMFoween Spooktacular Trifectathon!!! 
But seriously Inscryption is the greatest game ever and yes Ben is writing this and it doesn't matter what Jason and Corri think about Inscryption because it's amazing and one of the best games I've ever played and I can't stop playing it and if they ever stop then they probably didn't even really get it anyway. Whew! What are you still doing here? Go play Inscryption! NOW! IT'S AMAZING!
The gang gets into this crazy creepy card game and stave off spoilers for awhile, but eventually things take a turn for the worse and all of them get eaten by the spoiler monster (28:30). After that the Drinkensong enhabits their corpses and sings a few drunken tunes and they talk about what else has been possessing them as of late (1:09:45), before taking a long and dangerous ride to the Recommendation Station (1:18:00)...then they talk about our next game: SOMA!!! Which will be out very soon. And is also creepy af. Can't wait. Smooches!

Side Quest: Elden Ring - Ohhhh...Arise now, ye Tarnished.

Jason and Ben are back for this Side Quest and they're diving deeeeeep into the Lands Between and sharing their triumphs, failures, resurrections, and pure joyful moments playing the now legendary game that is Elden Ring.
They start off with some big ideas, then get specifically into Ben's experience finally taking the plunge after months of Jason telling him to play (10:40), then go back and forth talking about the highs and lows of their combined 300+ hrs of gameplay (25:00), before devolving into just quoting random lines of dialogue from their favorite NPCs and their favorite and very nerdy, yet still glorious co-op moments. Hope you enjoy the listen, even if you haven't played this epically long, yet amazing game.
