We've both been neck deep in western games the past few weeks, including this LucasArts classic: Outlaws--the first ever western FPS. Hope you got a chance to play it, b/c it was definitely a nostalgithon for us. Here we go...
After the intro, we talk making-of and development (3:30), then talk gameplay (12:00), before getting into some unsettling aspects of the game (26:20). Of course we play some "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" (36:00), talk about our little green friend Chuck The Plant (42:00), talk about what else we've been playing (45:15), and finish with what we'll be playing after the holidays (54:00).

Halloween's over but we're keeping the creepy supernatural stuff around for one more episode. This month we dove deep into the recent release, Unavowed, and it was thoroughly entertaining. Give it a listen to hear our thoughts on it...

It's that time of year again: Ye Olde MOLMF Holidayspookstravaganza!!! This year we've selected a contemporary terrifying masterpiece: Doki Doki Literature Club. It's only a year old, but it definitely has some staying power to creep people out for many years to come. Hope you...enjoyed(?) it...? Anyway, give it a listen and let us know what you thought of the game!
Beyond our eerie intro, we get into the hair-raising development (3:30), which bleeds into the frightening gameplay (17:00). Eventually, we meander into an eldritch distraction of "What Ale Does This Taste Like? What Chantey Do I Hear Whilst Playing?" (29:30), then finish the sinister episode with a ghostly discussion of what other dastardly distractions we've been preoccupied with recently (38:15), and of course what diversion will be the cynosure of next month's happening (49:00).

We're keeping with our Star Wars theme this month and diving into one of the most highly-acclaimed RPGs of all time: Star Wars - Knights Of The Old Republic. It was a LONG GAME. No joking around, it's Baldur's Gate, but it's close, as each of us put in at least 30 hours into this thing.
After a intro and development segment, we're joined again by Richard Nile to discuss all of the gameplay goodness of KOTOR. He also joins for a rousing round of "What's The Beer? It's been awhile since we quested on the side, but we've been planning this one for awhile. We're excited to have Saffyre Falkenberg on to discuss the ethics of video games. We cover everything from the decision trees of Telltale games and light/dark side of KOTOR, to the Dragon Age approval system and if you can beat Super Mario Bros. without killing anyone/anything (SPOILER: you totally can!).

If Disney gets to premiere a new Star Wars movie, then gosh darn it, we're doing it too! This month's throwback is the classic Star Wars sequel: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2. (Note: Please stick around for the moment we realize how wrong we were about a rather large plot point...go us!)
After some intros, we get into the history of the game and surrounding lore around the 2:30 mark, then we hit the gameplay at 22:30 and get deep into all 21 levels (most of them at least). Honestly, we end up diving deep into some Wookieepedia on Rahn and Kyle, and the whole Dark Forces gang...but I think it's more of a sign of how confusing the plot of this game was, rather than how oblivious we are...or could easily be both.
ANYWAY, no episode would be complete without an insightful round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?" at the 53:30 mark, and then we chat about what other games have been taking up our free time (in between MOLMF games of course) around 60:00, and end things talking about next month's game at 66:00. (HINT: We're not straying too far...far away.)

It's not an old game, but it's not a new game, it's the 2005 premiere Double Fine game: Psychonauts! We're excited to finally jump into this very inspired, original, and very influential game. Hope you had a chance to play it too. Enjoy!

Welcome to a very deep, dark episode of Men Of Low Moral Fiber! We're keeping things REAL this episode and don't shy away from some of the darkest themes we've ever covered in MOLMF.
We really enjoyed What Remains of Edith Finch, but at the same time, the game deals with a LOT of death and heartbreak, so we went with that and kind of dove into that a bit midway through. Anyway, follow the timeline below if you want to skip those deathly sections.
We changed things up a big this month and started with spoilers...around the 6:30 mark. Then we start going through the story of the game, family member by family member shortly after that. Around 24:30, things get REALLY dark for about 10 minutes or so (Baby Gregory and the idea of Death within video games...Then around 34:00 we talk about one of the coolest game mechanics we've ever seen (Lewis), and share a few more personal (death/dark) stories around the 41:15 point. At 48:00 we get into some research and reax, at 53:15 we play a rousing round of "What's The Beer? What's The Song?", and end things talking about next month's game at 58:15.
